By combining these strengths, the NoCoD thematic group establishes a robust framework to develop comprehensive and innovative solutions for chronic diseases, integrating cutting-edge research, specialized training, and international cooperation.
Non-Communicable Diseases
The inter-consortium thematic group "Non-Communicable Diseases" (NoCoD) of the Franco-Indian Campus for Life Sciences and Health (CFI-SVS) aims to address the growing health challenges associated with chronic diseases such as cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, neurological diseases, cancers, and metabolic disorders. This group leverages the distinct and complementary expertise of the following consortia: BIOSANTEXC, ILIADE, SHIELD, and Integrated Health.
BIOSANTEXC
coordinated by École Normale Supérieure (ENS) Lyon and the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Pune, provides fundamental scientific contributions, particularly in the fields of functional genomics, neuroscience, and biochemistry applied to chronic diseases. This consortium is notably active in establishing biomarker studies and relevant experimental models to understand and treat non- communicable diseases, enhancing researcher exchanges and Franco-Indian co-supervised doctoral training.
